ANSEL ADAMS
Was isolated a lot as a child. The most important result of Adams’s somewhat solitary and unmistakably different childhood was the joy that he found in nature, as evidenced by his taking long walks in the still-wild reaches of the Golden Gate. Nearly every day found him hiking the dunes or meandering along Lobos Creek, down to Baker Beach, or out to the very edge of the American continent. At first he liked music and then he transitioned to photography.
I chose this photo because it is such a simple thing that is not typically viewed as a beautiful thing (water/soap suds) but the manner in which it is captured and displayed makes it look really interesting. It reminds me of a constellation of a satellite view of a tropical storm.
I like the brightness of this tree and how it stands out so much against the background. Its very delicate looking.
The flowers look like they are speckled along the log so it is very dainty and pretty. I like the texture of the log behind the flowers.
The leaf veins stand out because of the contrast and it looks really interesting how they branch out from the base of the leaf.
